Every few weeks someone asks me about partner codes. Always the same thing: do you get discounted fees or free trading?
Short answer: no. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code doesn't change that.
Partner code 128979 gets you access to the deposit bonus. Additional trading capital depending on your deposit. That's all it does.
How much bonus do you receive?
A $1,000 deposit gets you $200.
$2,000 adds $400.
Deposits between $5,000 and $9,999 get $1,000.
Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. Most people won't hit that.
British traders get £160 bonus on £800 deposits. Scales up to £11,200 maximum.
Account minimum is $100. But you need $1,000 to qualify for bonus.
Finding the partner code field
Registration page. Below the phone field, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click it. A text box appears. Type **128979**.
Most people miss it because it doesn't look like a proper form field until you click.
Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Complete your registration. Contact support before funding. Request partner code 128979 be added. They handle this regularly.
Bonus withdrawal conditions
You need to trade a certain volume.
About 10,000 units for every dollar of bonus. $200 bonus requires 2,000,000 units of trading volume. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Happens faster than you'd think if you're active.
Your own money stays yours. Access it whenever you need. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.
Worth mentioning: locked bonus funds still contribute to your margin. This lets you take bigger positions. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
